ACR Appropriateness Criteria

The American College of Radiology works in partnership with medical specialty organizations to identify nationally recognized clinical content experts to participate in developing and revising the ACR Appropriateness Criteria® (AC) documents using the ACR’s methodology. These experts convey important perspectives on the medical literature, image ordering decisions, and clinical patient management. Participation on the AC panels by the experts from these societies does not indicate the individuals’ or the society’s endorsement of the final recommendations. The ACR strives to include all categories of stakeholders to participate in the review and improvement of these important AC documents.
